Work culture is important no matter what industry you work in. The mood and feel of your workplace decides many aspects of how your business does and how successful it can be. With happy employees comes happy customers. With happy customers comes more business and better reviews that can only make your pharmacy even more successful! How do you create a positive culture in your pharmacy, you ask? Well that's what we are here to tell you today! Here are 3 easy ways you can improve your pharmacy culture!

1. Check Ins

Whether you have a weekly meeting, a monthly meeting or no meetings at all, check ins are extremely important. A check in can be as simple as asking everyone around the table what they did the past weekend or ask something a little more creative like, " Describe your mood in one word today." This gives you a chance to get a feel on the mood of the work force that day and address any issues on spot. More than likely, if an employee is unhappy or stressed about a certain subject, they will say "stressed" or "frustrated," which is your que to pull them aside after the meeting and help them with whatever they need!

2. Celebrations

Work morale is always high when employees feel appreciated, remembered and cherished. This doesn't mean throw a full out birthday party for everyone all the time, but make a calendar with all the birthdays and plan a little something special that day! Bring cookies or buy a card and have the staff sign it. Making your employees feel special is an easy way to lift moral and fast. It doesn't have to stop with birthdays, either. Did an employee just finish some CE course? Celebrate with cookies and pizza!

3. Questions

This goes for upper management and employees. Don't be afraid to ask questions! If you're an employee and you have a question that might seem stupid, ask it anyways! If you're a manager and you see that one of your workers seems upset or a little off one day, don't be afraid to ask. Questions lead to answers and answers lead to success! The more questions you ask, the better.

Taking the time to appreciate and talk to your employees can really amp up your work morale, which only leads to more successful employees and more patients. What do you like to do to keep your employees happy? We'd love to hear from you!
