The definition of an introvert is someone who prefers calm, minimally stimulating environments. Doesn’t sound a whole lot like working in a pharmacy, right? Wrong! You can be an introvert and still have a successful career in pharmacy and no one would ever know!
Here are some career tips for a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician who may associate with being an introvert.
Don’t Change Who You Are
Don’t feel like you have to change who you are to be successful in this career. Your personality type is not something that needs medication and to be treated. Being an introvert brings unique characteristics and strengths of insights that go a long way in helping you advance your career!
Use Email To Your Advantage
Since introverts tend to content themselves with quiet victories, sometimes it’s easy to feel overlooked or underappreciated in your career. No one is going to go searching for your successes but yourself! A good way to share your successes without being boastful is to write an email to individuals who should know. That way, you can communicate your ideas powerfully and concisely!
Help Others
Help other pharmacy professionals, you are in this fight together! A Zig Ziglar quote says, “You can get anything you want in this life, if you will only help enough other people get what they want.” Use your intuition and observational introvert powers to figure out what the professionals in your company really want and help them achieve that! Once you do it enough, you will likely find your own career taking off!
In short, never change yourself for a job, only bring out the best qualities in yourself to help project yourself and others forward! Would you describe yourself as an introvert? Do you have any tips for other introverts in the pharmacy world?
